As you have certainly noticed, DreamPort.net is undergoing some major changes. One of those big changes is the new ability to comment on news posts such as this one. So for now on if you see something you feel the need to express yourself about, express away at the bottom of each post!

Ben over at dreaminglife has posted a very resourceful article containing twelve different pieces of software (some including dreamport.net!) that all serve one purpose: to make you lucid. In addition to links to every one of them, he also provides quick descriptions of each for your convenience. If you’re up for the ultimate lucid experience, I highly recommend you checking the article out, and for that matter, the rest of his site; there are some really sweet articles there!

Today’s spotlight is on a well known artist and fellow lucid dreamer, dodobird. His site, sadglad.com, features music, video, and software - all created by dodobird himself! In other communities, he is most known for his You Are Dreaming software (YAD) and his Daldom software.
The YAD program basically projects hints that you’re dreaming onto your monitor. Not only does it help achieve remembering to perform reality checks, but it also increases chances of lucidity if you ever happen to see your computer in your dreams. Daldom, the other program, is a cross platform lucid dreaming induction software, also extremely helpful.
If you’d like to see dodobird’s software, or read up some more on it, he will be posting up release threads in the Software Releases section pretty soon. In the meantime, feel free to check out dodobird’s site at the URL below (or for future reference, in the interesting links section):

A new and interesting program is being set up over at the Dreamscape Exploration section of the forum. Created by Ian1 originally, the “Lucidity Challenge” is pretty much an aid to help boost motivation for lucid dreaming.
Here’s how it goes: There’s a task manager and ten applicants. The task manager chooses a certain task related to lucid dreaming (like flying to the moon or something), and it is the job of the ten others to try and achieve that task. Points are awarded for various aspects of completing the task (say you didn’t reach the moon, but you still flew; you would still acquire points), and obviously whoever ends up with the most wins and becomes the next task manager. For this round, the task manager is Nachician.
Anyway, the program itself is awesome, and if you wish to be a part of it this go around, you better hurry up and sign up over at the thread! There can only be a maximum of 10 opponents, and slots have already started to fill. For more details on this project and how to sign up, click the link below:

The Software Discussions section in the forum has been locked down, and will soon vanish. For now on, if you have any questions / comments / feedback on any piece of software, simply reply to that software’s specific thread located in the “Software Releases” section. Any and all can reply, but only “DreamPort Developers” can post. “DreamPort Developers” is a usergroup that is open to anybody to join. Becoming a part of it simply gives you thread creation permission (obviously). The reason why we’re doing this is so that spam threads aren’t created, and so all questions of software are kept in their respected thread.
In addition, the Software Releases section has been opened to all of the public. Registration / Logins are no longer required to view or download software.
This new change is good news for anybody who desires to release their software here on dreamport. Now, anybody and everybody will be able to download and use your software, allowing you to become more well known. If you have software and would like to release it to the public, we highly encourage you to join the developers and get it out there!
That’s it! Enjoy!

As the month of July comes to an end, it is time to proudly announce the recipient of the next Blue Diamond Award. This member is truely one of great skill. As the great Shared Dreaming Project emerged, as well as the newly founded Astral Alliance, this person stepped up to contribute by taking hours out of his day to make a project into something glorious. He shaped and executed a plan to transform a drawing into a work of art; he constructed the Lucid Plaza model, which was designed by ian1.
So, without further delay, I present the second ever Blue Diamond Award in DreamPort history to our one and only Donoteat! Congratulations Donoteat, everybody here is greatly astonished by your efforts, and hope to see everything up and running soon!
For anybody not familiar with donoteat’s work, to the right is a snapshot of what he has been working hard on (click to enlarge). To see more about Donoteat’s Blue Diamond Award, go to the URL below:

A while ago we introduced The Mad Hatter’s Dreaming to Infinity blogging site. Well, now we’d like to put the spotlight on another very respected blogger by the name of Ben (good name isn’t it
). His site, located at the URL below, is one of pure greatness. He focuses on both main and sub parts of the dreaming world to allow the user to better understand the unexplainable. You can find various information on lucid aids such as Calea Zacatechichi, books, interviews, lucid induction techniques, and much, much more! I highly recommend this site, and I truely believe it, as well as The Mad Hatter’s site, deserves full attention to any fanatic of the lucid or even normal dreaming world, which is exactly why it has placed itself up in our “Interesting Links” section located on the right.
Without further delay, go check it out!

DreamPort.net is proud to announce the DreamPort Blue Diamond Award System. This system is specifically for the community’s most obliging and compassionate members in recognition of their constant helpful behaviors towards others. It is our pleasure to hand out these awards of honor to such people; it’s in fact the very representation of our gratitude. So to all future receivers of this award, we encourage you to represent it with all you can; you’ve sure deserved it. To read more about how the Blue Diamond Award System works, click here.
It is with great privilege to present this month’s member to the community. This user has truly been a hero from the start, and has always been there not only for me but for many others as well when needed most. The list of his efforts goes on for hundreds of pages, and I feel intensely grateful for his presence here. Being the very first non administrative member of Dreamport, he lent his hands in many situations including testing of the site’s software. He has given input to many situations of many different people, and has even been a proud owner of his very own dreaming website (http://www.dailydeluge.com/), which so happens to be one of the best and most informational that I’ve seen.
So, without further delay, I present the first ever Blue Diamond Award in DreamPort history to our one and only The Mad Hatter! Congratulations The Mad Hatter, I think we all know just how much you deserve this honor!

As mentioned in the previous post, the Lucid Plaza is the new Astral Alliance meeting dreamscape for the Shared Dreaming Experiment. While thinking of better ways to allow members to incubate the environment, the idea of creating a simple 3D game was brought up. How better to picture the place than actually being able to virtually walk through it and see it from any aspect? This obvious choice of where to go is now our immediate task, and needs to be completed as soon as possible.
Personally I have never worked on a 3D project, but I’m very confident in being able to do so with Microsoft’s XNA Framework in C#. I’ve created 2D games within it and have really gotten used to the syntax of things. Being novice in creating a full 3D game, I’m a little ignorant on who all we need to work on this. I know for sure we need artists and 3D modelers, but I’m not certain about what all else will be necessary. Regardless, if you think you’re interested, please click the link below and reply to that thread if you’d like to help. It’s definatly going to be a learning experience, but I think it’ll still be extremely fun
.

Today the Astral Alliance’s Shared Dreaming Experiment has a new setting! Prior to today, everybody had agreed on a fairly quick and easy dreamscape to remember, Astral Pulse Island. While it was a cool place, we thought it wasn’t interactive enough, and thought it was too vague.
So, we have been turned to a new direction, Ian1’s Lucid Plaza (shown in the picture). This community provides everything that you could possibly dream of in the lucid world.
Within it there are portals to wherever you choose, there is a store full of whatever you desire at no cost and no wait, there are skill instructors to help you master any ability such as flying or spawning, there is a massive amount of food, and there’s even an arcade full of games, events, and even roller coasters. Step outside and to the other island connected to this one, and you will find a relaxing getaway environment with waterfalls.
This truely is what we’ve been looking for, and we’re happy that we’ve finally found it. For now on, this is the dreamscape that the Astral Alliance will incubate for the Shared Dreaming Project.
